Marc Cerone is a Senior Director in the Design and Projects Delivery Departments at Red Sea Global (RSG), one of the world’s most visionary developers of tourism destinations that are both luxurious and regenerative. Since joining RSG in July 2022, Marc has led a team working on various hospitality and residential assets at The Red Sea destination, in particular at the Shura Island and Laheq projects.

Previously, Marc was a Design Director and Practice Leader in interior architecture at Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture headquartered in Chicago. While at AS+GG, he worked on projects in China, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Canada, the US, and elsewhere. Marc’s responsibilities encompassed interior design and architecture for prominent Middle Eastern projects such as Jeddah Tower, Dubai Uptown Tower 2, and Expo 2020 Dubai.

His appreciation of the Middle East’s cultural heritage guides his design principles. He draws inspiration from nature and integrates it with the imperatives of building performance, energy conservation, and sustainability. For Marc, architecture and design are tools to craft a better world and a healthier, more enriching future. He especially values the pivotal role of mentorship, particularly for younger team members and students.

He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in the US. He has professional affiliations with the American Institute of Architects, the United States Green Building Council (which awards Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED, certification), and the International Interior Design Association.
