Shazad is an award-winning designer with over 25 years of architecture & interior international experience on a wide range of architecture and interior design projects including workplace, hospitality, residential, retail and master-planning projects. He is also one of the founders of International Design Associates (IDA), bringing his commercial and hospitality experience to the table.

Shazad has applied his design skills on a range of award and competition winning projects globally. As IDA's Head of Design, he provides his creative direction across all IDA global studios and sits on multiple boards as part of an advisory committee. His design ability and all-round awareness make him a key member of the IDA team.

Having delivered several award-winning global schemes, Shazad’s design and build experience now enables him to act as the key consultant to deliver complex projects from concept, design and through to construction. His multi-ethnically background, western upbringing and UK education gives him a global insight into working with Clients across the globe with a main focus on the Middle East.

He is an expert in ‘Hospitality Design’. A position backed by an extensive portfolio in the hotels and residential markets, ranging from New builds, refurbishment, and fit-out projects. His recent achievements include the delivery of Jumeirah Gulf of Bahrain Resort & Spa, The Address Beach Resort, Vida Beach Resort in Marassi Al Bahrain, and other award-winning hotels. He is currently taking the lead in other prestigious projects lined up to open soon including Raffles Resort & Spa, A Mantis Collection-Hawar Island Hotel & Resort, Tivoli Hotel, Avani Hotel, Agora Autograph Collection Hotel in Doha, and other luxurious hotel projects in different countries.

Shazad’s unique creative and delivery experience, enables him to marry design with efficient construction detailing that is geared towards creating award-winning interior spaces that are cost effective and delivered on time and on budget. His local GCC experience and hotel operator brand standards knowledge, has enabled him to become an expert in Value engineering without sacrificing design quality.
